On Wednesday, October 18, InterCoast Building Solutions hosted the inaugural Design and Vines Seminar at Seasons in the Park restaurant in Vancouver. The event was sponsored by TenPlus Architectural Products with and featured industry leaders & special guest speakers to discuss the topic of “How is a Winemaker Like an Architect”.

Mr. Darryl Brooker, General Manager of Mission Hill Family Estate Winery, was first to present. He highlighted the science behind winemaking and gave a comprehensive explanation of the process and noted the winery’s commitment to sustainability.

📷Mr. John Patkau, Principal at Patkau Architects Vancouver, followed with a presentation on the Temple of Light at the Yasodhara Ashram. The design incorporates Want to add a caption to this image? Click the Settings icon. elements of history and symbolic importance, making light the focal point of the design. The building also follows the environmental principles of the ashram and is designed to be energy efficient and promote sustainability.

The seminar culminated in a wine tasting session led by Mr. Brooker featuring three wines from Mission Hill Family Estate as well as a reception where people could network and view InterCoast Building Solution’s products from TenPlus Architectural Louvers and Sunshades and Tech-Crete Concrete Faced Insulating Wall and Roof Panels.

To thank our speakers, InterCoast Building Solutions made a donation in the name of Mission Hill Family Estates to the BC Red Cross, Okanagan Fire Fund.
